Program Information

Meadowview is a Licensed Residential Care Center with 32 beds. We provide:

• Housekeeping
• Laundry
• Meals
• Medication Administration
• Minimal assistance with activities of daily living, which includes bathing, dressing, grooming

We are staffed by Certified Medication Aids / Techs 24 hours per day. With a Nurse in the building 40 hours per week and a nurse on call 24/7.

Staff provides minimal assistance with dressing, bathing, grooming. Hair appts. With private cosmetologist available weekly.

We also provide:

• Emergency call system in each room
• Recreational activities such as bingo, movies daily
• Fire alarm and sprinkler system
• Constant supervision
• Private bathrooms in every room

History

The Ladies Union Benevolent Association, a 501(C)(3) not for profit corporation was founded in 1874 as an organization to care for the elderly and youth by operating what was then termed, “the home of the friendless.” In 1894 the Ladies Union Benevolent Association was selected by Charles Noyes to be the benefactors of a trust that he established to build and operate what is known as the Home for Little Wanderers which is our legal name. To honor Charles Noyes, we are known in the community as Noyes Home for Children.

After the building of the Home for Little Wanderers the elderly remained at what was known as Memorial Home. In 1996 The Ladies Union Benevolent Association purchased land and built what is now known as Meadowview Residential Care. This modern facility serves the elderly in a home-like assisted living environment.

Both programs operate in a manner that is consistent with the wishes of our founding father Charles Noyes in that we do not turn people away based on their ability to pay. We strive daily to remain the “home of the friendless.” The Noyes Home receives only minimal reimbursement for children who are in the foster care system. Over ninety percent of the children are cared for with no reimbursement from government sources and minimal or no support from their families. Meadowview residents do receive some support from Medicare. Both facilities rely on income from our benevolent trusts and the generosity of the citizens of our community to meet operating expenses.
